Tears That Water the Land
Illustrated and hand carved, these lino prints are printed onto Khadi paper; a handmade and fairly traded paper made from 100% long fibre cotton rag. The paper is mounted on an A5 card.
This artwork was created as a call for an urgent appeal to the international community to provide aid to the Lebanese people after the violent attacks and air strikes on residential areas all over the country. Israel's intense bombing campaign has been relentlessly ongoing since September 23, forcing tens of thousands of people to evacuate their homes and leave everything behind. These displaced individuals are seeking refuge in schools, organisations, and living on the streets. These spaces are not equipped to handle the influx, and are in desperate need of basic necessities.
The most effective way the Lebanese diaspora and international community can help, is to support and provide funds to trusted people working tirelessly on the ground in Lebanon.
For any donations over $45, people received an original artwork of these Limited Edition prints - only available during the fundraiser period.
We raised $3900 through this fundraiser, which was donated to Maya Ayyache, who is on the ground in Lebanon. With the help of her little team, they are distributing mattresses, blankets, pillows and more to those who have been displaced.
